Grilled Cheese Roll-Ups

Ingredients

  • Bread

  • Cheese slices

  • wood/plastic rolling pin to flatten the bread (they can use their hands as well)

  • toothpicks

Preparation

  • Give each student a piece of bread and a slice of cheese

  • Allow some time for the student to flatten their bread with the rolling pin or their hands

  • Have them place their cheese on top of the bread

  • Then demonstrate how to roll and have them try it on their own

  • Finally, place a toothpick to prevent the cheese roll-up from opening

  • The teacher will cook them during nap time by Melting 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet/pan over medium-high heat. They will add some roll-ups to the skillet, cooking until all sides are golden brown and the cheese has melted, about 3-4 minutes, adding more butter as needed.
